Geocache Description:

A lovely neighborhood park with a playground, small pond, ducks, geese and the likely waterfowl, a memorial garden to those who lost their life on September 11, 2001, and, oh yeah Monk parakeets. (see related web page for info on Brooklyn parrots)

The cache is a camo taped larger bison tube with log only (about 1.5" long) -- BYOP. As you search for this cache, you will probably hear the screech of the birds from the nests at the top of the light poles bordering the nearby baseball field. I first encountered a few colonies of Monk parakeets in Brooklyn with a series of caches: Brooklyn Parrots 1 - Brooklyn College http://coord.info/GC1W216 ARCHIVED , Brooklyn Parrots 2 - Brighton Beach http://coord.info/GC1W0Z7 ARCHIVED , Brooklyn Parrots 3 - Bergen Beach http://coord.info/GC1W0YY ). Maybe like other Brooklynites, the birds in this park have moved to the suburbs for more trees and open land. As you search for the cache, you may even have some of the birds perched in the trees above trying to help.
