We stopped for a photo opportunity and to admire the surrounds, and pondered what it would be like to live here 100 or more years ago...
Why did they leave?
Where did they go?
Was there a massive drought, despite having the mighty Murray so close, or perhaps were their crops flooded in a huge flood, thereby destroying their livlihood?
Who would know?
So many questions, so few answers at the moment.
