Geocache Description:

Black Rock Nature reserve is managed by Somerset Wildlife Trust on behalf of the National Trust. Black Rock forms part of the Cheddar Gorge Site of Special Scientific Interest and is part of a Special Area for Conersation because of the limestone grassland, ravine woodland and rare greater and lesser horseshoe bats.

This cache is places at the top of Black Rock where you can enjoy spectacular views across Mendip’s and Cheddar Gorge. Why not take a minute to sit down an enjoy the view. Look out for redstarts on their summer migration. Peregrine falcons breed locally and can be spotted hunting over the reserve. Greater and lesser horseshoe bats may be glanced hunting at dusk and there are important butterflies including dark green fritillary, dingy skipper and green hairstreak.

The cache is a very small sqaure tuperware box. The contents includes some Somerset Wildlife Trust stickers and badges.
