Black Rock Nature Reserve has serveral different habitats including limestone grassland, broadleaf and coniferous woodland, rocky outcrops, scree and scrub areas. The main rock type of the site is carboniferous limestone which has been exposed both naturally and due to human activity.
The cache is hidden at the end of the long nature trail where there are lots of moss covered rocks and in the spring the area is carpeted with wild garlic. The cache is a very small sqaure tuperware box. The contents includes some Somerset Wildlife Trust stickers and badges.
