Geocache Description:

A "deep water solo" style tree climb in Byron's Pool Nature Reserve.

Byron's Pool is named after the eponymous lord, who used to swim there whilst at Cambridge. Now it is the highest point on the Cam to which one can punt from the city, but it takes a long time

This cache is up a tree some way out over the river. Climbing to it will require dexterity and balance, and you may get wet! The challenge is to get the cache and keep your feet dry. I managed it when placing it.

I strongly advise you do not do this cache alone, and do not attempt it if you cannot swim.

Do take a while to stroll round the nature reserve, and if it's a nice day, maybe bring a picnic. It really is a delightful spot.

This is a companion cache to Coldhams Ascension and Paradise Ascension, both of which are also tree climbs.

Cache placed with kind permission of Cambridge City Council, who manage the reserve.

Congratulations to MissKemosabe and Cannonfodder32 for the FTF, in accordance with the custom.

The cache has since been replaced in a different part of the tree to its original location, due to the tree slowly tipping into the water
