Welcome to the new Burtonsville Town Square Shopping Center. Here you can get your grocery store needs, pet needs, medical needs and even some take away dinner with a donut for yourself if you'd like. Oh and by the way hopefully gain yourself a smilie! Several of these stores used to be housed across the steet back when the Dutch Market was in this spot but change has brought a brand new constructed shopping center with some of the old stores from across the steet as well as a few new. I came here to do a little shopping and this quiet GZ in the middle of it all with a certain object at it's core just had to get a geo cache! This object is a 1920 original to the former Citizens Bank and was part of the salvage by the property owner as part of the US Green Building Council's LEED Certification process for which this shopping center earned and was certified LEED Gold. LEED, or Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design, is a green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices. To receive LEED certification, building projects satisfy prerequisites and earn points to achieve different levels of certification. Prerequisites and credits differ for each rating system, and teams choose the best fit for their project. The owner also has a human sun dial at the location, have fun with that and give it a try. This could be a fast cache and dash or it could be hard to spot. Please, oh please, be sure to replace this BACK WHERE you found it. Thanks to Ronnie and Chris for all the support in helping me collect the needed info/permission to place this cache "ON" this unique spot.
