This traditional cache is situated in the compact and bijou Woodhill Meadow, one of the many nature reserves in this area which are managed and maintained by Tees Valley Wildlife Trust.
This delightful site is located at Margrove Park, easily accessible a short distance from the main A171 where there is free parking in the grounds of the Tees Valley Wildlife Trusts main offices and direct access to the meadow. Alternatively you can park free of charge at Birk Brow car park off the A171 and walk down to the site by a number of footpaths or bridleways.
Woodhill meadow has been developed as a tiny wildlife haven, nestled within the woodlands which lead down from the North Yorkshire moors. Natural wildlife habitats such as feeding stations, insect hotels and pond habitats have been nurtured for the exploration of the young and old. The site is well enclosed, tranquil and a tiny bit magical and ideal for a family picnic site. Dogs are welcome in all areas with the exception of the ponds.
A number of footpaths cross the site meaning the meadow can be used as a base for a longer walk incorporating the nearby Cleveland Way, Cleveland Street, Guisborough Forestry tracks or shorter loops towards Birk Brow or the Trusts own Margrove Ponds.
