浄土宗でもとは千葉県小金村東漸寺末で、金胎山不断光院と号した。閉山は法誉伝竜法印で、承応元年(一六五二)に入寂している。本尊は等身大の阿弥陀如来坐像をまつる。
昭和二十八年の火災で鐘楼門を残してその他は焼失したので昭和四十八年七月本堂を再建新築した。
当時には儒家の大江藍田〔天明八年(一七七八)五月八日没〕の墓がある。山門をくぐりぬけると左側に村田権兵衛栄章を讃えた碑がある。彼は西宇喜田村の人で、子弟の教育のために献身したので、その門人たちが彼の徳をたたえて建てたものである。（江戸川区の文化財より）

Anraku-ji was founded as a Jodo Sect of Buddhism in 1652. There is a life-size image of the seated Buddha inside the temple. The temple was brought from Chiba Prefecture to its current location. There was a fire that burned the temple down and it was rebuilt in 1953. A gravestone going back to 1788 can be found. A monument to Hideaki Gonbei Murata can be found in the temple precincts, to the left side of the temple gate. Murata-san was well known in the Ukita area as he dedicated many things to education and children. The monument was built in his honour.
The temple grounds are not open 24 hours. Hours of "operation" are 07:00-17:00. (Although, there is a transport company parking lot next to the cache that may not be advised to use due to sensors in the area...)
