~~So another Tax season has come and gone so Pokedad59 is free once again to spend his free time out chasing Geocaches. And with the end of tax season we must honor the long hours and fortitude of those who navigate the tax laws so the rest of us can forego the agony.
Tax laws and rules are numerous.
The website finance.townhall.com sites: “According to the CCH Standard Federal Tax Reporter, as of 2013, it now takes 73,954 regular 8-1/2" x 11" sheets of paper to explain the complexity of the U.S. federal tax code!” And while it may be easy enough these days to search the web for a specific tax questions, getting to the final answer can be the proverbial needle in a haystack.
This cache is dedicated to the crazy amount of digging you (or your tax preparer) do to find the answers. No crazy puzzle for Pay the Man V. (Honestly I felt bad that last year’s puzzle turned out to be much more perplexing than intended.) But the cache will require skill nonetheless in keeping with the challenges of the complex tax laws.
This two-stage multi is similar to the researching your tax questions. A starting point for your taxes is easily found either via the tax form, a web search or a software package. And for this geocache you are given the posted coordinates for stage 1.
Then the fun begins. Exactly how do you find that spot that contains the specific answer you seek? For once you have that answer the spot to fill in on the form is quite obvious. For some they find the answer right off and are finished with their taxes quickly. Others may struggle in their search and must continue their search from other directions.
The path is not always smooth when doing your taxes or a Geocache. There may be bumps, obstacles, peaks and valleys. But in pursuing the cache at least enjoy the journey and the sights provided by this beautiful location.
