Come join Auto City Cachers for a meet & greet At Curly's from 9:00am till 10am to caching and exchange trade items. The star will be released at 10:00am for those wishing to find caches while in the area.

The Michigan Star has 50 caches along with a Challenge Cache for a total of 51 caches.

EVENT DETAILS:

Join the Auto City Cachers (ACC) for the Michigan “Star” Kickoff Event (Breakfast under the Star) on Saturday, May 10, 2014

Curly’s Lakehouse Café

 The brunch and greet will start at 9:00 a.m. and the event kickoff will officially begin at 10:00 a.m. where you can begin working on the star puzzle questions.  The social at the restaurant will go until 11:00 a.m.  There will be ACC volunteers on hand till 11:00 a.m. to help with any questions.  Curly’s is a full service restaurant and will open at 8:00 a.m. on the day of the event.  Breakfast, lunch, or dinner is available all day.  So get there early to eat before hitting the trail or come back for a break whenever you wish.  Again, an ACC volunteer will be “in-house” at Curly’s until at least 11:00 a.m.  After that, you’ll need to look for a bright yellow Auto City Cachers Volunteer t-shirt around the “Star” if you have any questions or concerns.

The Southern Links Trailway is a newly open 10.2 mile trail that connects the communities of Columbiaville, Otter Lake, and Millington. This non-motorized trailway is paved with asphalt a minimum of 10' wide for hiking and biking with a separate path for those on horseback. This trailway offers its patrons scenic views of open fields and wetlands, wooded forests and farm lands. Parking is nearby as is a portable restroom and trail map.
*** Trailway right of way is 50 ft to either side from center of trail on the north end of the trail, narrowing to 25 ft to either side from center south of Hollenbeck Rd. NOTE: RIGHT OF WAY DOES NOT EXTEND BEYOND EDGES OF TRAIL THROUGH GRAVEL PIT AREA. There is no need to cross any fences or go past any posted signs.

Some things to remember when doing this series...
  • This artwork has 51 caches.
  • Make sure you have plenty of water and snacks.
  • Carry out what you take in. Don’t leave any trash behind.
  • HAVE FUN & PLEASE RESPECT THE AREA
  • Be sure to wear orange during hunting season.
  • The 3 major cell carriers have some data service, but it is spotty.
