Spring Meadow View Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

sunflowersu: Checked on this last week--it is missing. Strong winds may have blown it out of its spot, or maybe a tree climbing animal took it. I must say that the tree has grown so much in the last six years (since placing the cache) that I could barely reach where it was tucked away. I admit that perhaps a taller person could reach it even if he could not see it. I am going to archive it, since the tree will continue to grow and I will not, meaning that I will not be able to maintain it. (: It was fun while it lasted!

Geocache Description:

Get a glimpse of a spring meadow view, or at least what is left of one.  This cache is placed with permission of the property owner.  Please hunt only after business hours:  Monday after 7 pm, Tuesday--Friday after 6 pm, and Saturday after 12 noon; Sunday is available all day. Perhaps if you are an early bird, you can hunt before 7:30 am.

There is a FTF travel bug tag for the first to find it. Please DO NOT add a photo of the cache area to your log.

For years and years, a spring of water flowed in this area and was eventually used to create a pond.  The surrounding grasses were part of a country meadow.  As time would have it, people eventually bought land and built houses nearby.  The spring-fed pond remains and tall pines and maples dot the meadow.  A parking area is available at the edge of the "meadow" (permission is granted for parking after hours at the adjoining business). Please WATCH where you STEP--people often walk their dogs in part of this meadow, and although they are suppose to clean up after them, they do not always do that. My suggestion to you is that after you park your vehicle, walk along the driveway toward the road and proceed through the grass near the road to get where you want to go. Keep an eye on your children walking through the area (children rarely look out for hazards on the ground). Have fun!

Congratulations to Gregreggregg for FTF!
