The Peregrine Path is a cross boundary route that straddles the English Welsh border and connects Monmouth with Symonds Yat within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It used to be the Ross and Monmouth railway line and you can still see evidence of that along the route.
The 3 mile section from the first cache and Symonds Yat is traffic free so is an ideal walking/cycling route, suitable for all ages and for people with limited mobility including wheelchair users.
This is the bonus cache of the Peregrine Path series. To find it you will need to find numbers hidden in some of the caches along the route (Hadnock Halt, Near Yew, Gabion and Hidey Hole) - and then put them into this simple equation:
N51 49.A+D W002 39.B+C
The checksum in case one of the bonus caches is missing is A+B+C+D = 794
There is alternative Pay and Display parking at Symonds Yat East. Starting here makes the walk longer because it is 1.5 miles to Biblins Bridge where the last cache is placed, but it is a highly recommended spot with some excellent hostelries that you can return to once you have completed the series.
This series is published with the kind permission of Natural Wales and the Forestry Commission.
***FTF*** Congratulations to Jellywobble for being the first to complete the series ***FTF***
