I'd originally intended this to be nearer the church, but the location still has an ecclesiastical flavour :-). The Roman Catholic church is nearby: built in 1969, it holds the national shrine to St Boniface, famously born in Crediton. Dean Street is also nearby: possibly the oldest street in the town.
You can usually park along this road, so it's possible to cache and dash.
