The cache is on one of the isolated segments of Carroll Canyon Rd. I suppose one day when the gravel pit is exhausted, they will all be connected to provide another east west corridor for the area. Currently the street is much wider than necessary complete with superfluous bike lanes. For years a squatter had set up camp at the end of the road and though now gone, can still be seen in the satellite maps. All that remains is a tiny memorial near his former location.
The container is a small camo pill bottle with room for only the log so be sure to bring a pen or pencil. You may need to walk a little more than you first think. While you can do it after dark, I wouldn't recommend it.
