Geocache Description:

Why Octopus Tree ? I don't know the geo wife seems to think that a tree across the road with eight limbs looks like an Octopus. Beats me I can't see it, think she should have gone to that famous glasses shop, something Savers ? The cache is a fairly simple drive by with ample parking. On your way watch out for the White Bicycle up in the trees makes you wonder how it got up there. (Can be seen better going north ish towards Llanwrst.)

The cache is a drive by set on a fairly wide back road from Llanwrst/Trefriw to Betws-y-coed with lay-by parking nearby. The road follows the course of the Afon Conwy which is also fed by the Nantygwryd River flowing over the famous Swallow Falls just outside of Betws-y- coed. The forested hills hide many trails that are accessible by foot, mountain bike or by car and some wonderful lakes/reservoirs, Llyn Gerionydd and Llyn Crafnant to name but two. The cache is a small clip lock container in a camo bag and has the normal log book and pencil. Be warned a rare species of Welsh jumping spider has been discovered in the area recently and lives under rotting logs and feeds on green leaves. It isn't venomous but can give you a nip and a fright. There maybe muggles nearby so geo kids no screaming.

Well done to andycop for FTF 16 Apr 14
