Geocache Description:

The 5th in our memorial series

The Beaconsfield War Memorial, on Wood Street, adopts the typical tapered obelisk form, with a dressed shaft and quarry-faced tiered base. It is distinguished among other monuments by the bronze frieze on the upper shaft and the associated lettering and badge on the lower. The base is cement-rendered. It was dedicated to the local men who lost their lives in the First World War. Known as the Beaconsfield Fallen Soldiers Memorial, the monument is a local landmark.  Constructed in 1920.

This is a Nano cache as it was difficult to place anything larger,  there is no need to climb or interfere with the memorial or garden bed.

Bring your own writing stick

11 May 2024.    Cache had to be moved due to a refurbishment of the memorial.  Note it is not within the garden area,  no need to search on the memorial or the garden area..
