We were playing a trivia game, men against the women. It was Mike’s (+ The Driver) turn to read the question to us, and the question was about a Larry McMurtry novel. “This Larry McMurtry novel…..” came out as “This Larry McNerdy novel…” and the rest is history. Of course it took a while for us all to regain our composure and answer the question, but in the end we answered correctly.
Mike, now known informally as “McNerdy” also read a question about a “Chunky Toronto group” which he translated into a “Chunky Toronado group”, so we thought that would be a great name for a band.
