Welcome to my series of "Road Trip" hides........It seems impossible for me to take a road trip without music...and there are some tunes that I automatically crank up the volume for! A good Road Song is one that makes you want to sing along with it, one that stirs memories of past life events and relationships perhaps....and one that can jolt you wide awake if you find you need a bit of a 'boost'...crank up the music and enjoy! Even if you aren't fond of some of these selections in this continuous series, I think you will agree that these 'classics' are definitely memorable and appropriate!
This series won't be limited to one particular highway or area but I have started with this route (to and from my home town in the NE part of the province) to start things rockin' and rolling..... I hope to continue placing caches on this northeasterly set of highways on a regular basis-I hope you enjoy them. I have tried to place these caches where you can safely pull off the road but please exercise care and caution as you would for any other roadside stop. Have fun, buckle up, and hit the road!
This classic by the Allman Brothers Band is another favorite of mine! I can't help but notice the reference to "highway 41" in the song which is the highway we initially take out of Saskatoon to reach the home town
. This is just the first of this group's songs that will be featured in the 'road trip' series; the band belted out a long list of great tunes! But in the meantime, enjoy Ramblin' Man....
"Lord, I was born a ramblin' man
Tryin' to make a livin' and doin' the best I can
And when it's time for leavin'
I hope you'll understand
That I was born a ramblin' man.
My father was a gambler down in Georgia
And he wound up on the wrong end of a gun
And I was born in the backseat of a Greyhound bus
Rollin' down highway 41......"

Congratulations to Geo GRB for being FTF on this cache and to 3PollyC for being STF....it wasn't a nice Easter weekend for caching so I was happy to see so many of my recent hides being hunted down, despite the weather!
