Solitary island of the land
Tsukuba city has been developed as the Tsukuba Science City since 1960s. As a result of the development policy, a lot of public or private research institutes located in the Metropolitan area had been moved to this city which was the countryside in those days. Because there was little transportation, this area was called a "solitary island of the land". Since the Tsukuba express railway has been on business, life in Tsukuba has become convenient compared with the past.
A street entitled "Tsukuba Koen Dori" located from Akatsuka Park to Tsukuba University is also called "Pedestrian". This is a pedestrian precinct of approximately 5km. This was designed based on a development policy to feel a lot of green in the town. Therefore, there are several large parks along the street. Recently, public competition on robots which can move autonomously has been held on the street and parks. If you are interested in it, please search it in the internet using some keywords "ロボット", "つくば" and "チャレンジ". (cf. つくばチャレンジ (in Japanese))
One of the parks along the Pedestrian is a Takezono Park. There was a cache placed by chanshira-san. But they have set it as the archived cache. I would like to place another cache near the GZ of the previous one. I put two micro-sized containers in the new cache as the initial contents which were used as the cache containers for GC18H0R and GC20QRZ. The previous description is also listed as below.

陸の孤島
つくば市は、60年代より筑波研究学園都市として開発されてきました。政策により、おもに首都圏にあった複数の研究機関を移転させ、1987年には周辺の町村を合併してつくば市となりました。当時は『陸の孤島』と呼ばれたりしたそうですが、いまではつくばエキスプレスも開通し、多くの人々でにぎわっています。
つくば市の中心を赤塚公園から筑波大学まで南北に通っている約5kmの『つくば公園通り』はペデストリアンとも呼ばれています。これは街の中に緑を多く取り入れようという都市計画に基づいて設計されたもので、歩行者(自転車)専用道路になっています。周辺には公園が多いです。一部車道を横切るところもありますが、基本的には車の往来を気にすることなく緑を満喫できます。最近では、移動ロボットに自律走行させる公開実験がこのペデストリアン周辺を舞台に開催されています。(cf. つくばチャレンジ)
ペデストリアン沿いの公園の一つが竹園公園です。ここには以前chanshiraさんがキャッシュを置かれていたのですが、アーカイブされたようです。そこでコンテナサイズを少し変更して新しく設置しました。マイクロコンテナが二つ以上入る大きさです。以下にchanshiraさんの文章を転載しておきます。

We placed the cache in Tsukuba Takezono Park.
This park is located just behind the international congress center EPOCHAL TSUKUBA and its connected hotel. Many international academic meetings are held in this center.

There are many passing or relaxing muggles in this park. Stealth required during the daytime.

公園内には通行人や休日を楽しむマグルがたくさんいます。昼間の探索には気を付けてください。
