The commuter village of Hatfield Peverel lies between Chelmsford and Witham. The Methodist Church is on The Street and forms part of the Braintree District of the Chelmsford Methodist Circuit. It has a small, largely elderly congregation of 12 members and Sue Lambert has been the minister since September 2010.
Please note that there are no places to park on The Street itself, but you can park in nearby side roads.
In order to find the cache, you will need to find the year in which the engraved stone was laid by Alfred C.E.Morton. If this year is WXYZ, then the cache can be found at:
N 51º 46.Z (Y-W) (Y-Z) E 000º 35.(X/Z) Z X
The cache is a regular-sized camouflaged plastic box, containing some swappable items, log book and pencil. Please be sure to close the lid properly so that the contents stay dry and cover with sticks. I hope you enjoy finding this cache.
