The Battle of Yellow Tavern
The Battle of Yellow Tavern was fought on May 11, 1864, as part of the Overland Campaign of the American Civil War. Union cavalry under Maj. Gen. Philip Sheridan was detached from the Army of the Potomac to conduct a raid on Richmond, Virginia, and challenge legendary Confederate cavalry commander Maj. Gen. J.E.B. Stuart. The Confederate force was outnumbered and outgunned and Stuart was mortally wounded while attempting to rally his men, dying the next day.

This is placed along the old telegraph road. Now the road is chopped up into many pieces by 295 and newer roads. I thought a few along here would be perfect considering this road played such a large role in this battle.
This cache is a camo container. This one will involve having to cross a creek, so it might not be good for young children. Bring your own pen and replace as found. Be sure to log all income and outgoing trackables. Happy caching.
