The cache is not at the posted coordinates. This cache was placed to thank and honor every geocacher who ever placed a single hide. If no one places a cache, the finders won't have any fun. But this cache is meant to give special thanks to the elite cache hiders.
Whenever I log onto geocaching.com, I'm struck by the fact that there are 6,000,000+ geocachers, but only 2,000,000+ caches. That means at least 4,000,000 cachers - or 67% - aren't pulling their weight! There are cachers with just 1 or 2 hides. They make up another 9%. And the couples where you have to divide their hides in half - there's another 3%. And there are more productive cachers who have 5 or 10 hides - there's another 19%. So that leaves the top 2% - the elite cache hiders. YOU know those cachers. They are the ones with over 100 hides. You find their stuff all the time. Or you go to their events. Or you curse their puzzles and ciphers. But then you thank them for placing a cache in a great spot, or for letting you get closer to some challenge you are trying to meet, or showing you a new place to walk or hike. Geocaching.com-powers-that-be won't allow me to require you to have placed a single cache, let alone to have placed at least 2 caches for every hundred that you have found (2%), which was my original intent. I will only ask you to list how many caches you have found to date, and how many you have placed to date. If you can calculate that percentage (# placed divided by # found), you are welcome to include that. I'm hoping this challenge might inspire you to go place one or two or ten more caches for others to enjoy finding. To find the final, subtract 700 from the north coordinates. Then add 700 to the west coordinates. The cache is an obvious spot nearby.
