La cache a été préparée pour le SNCITO5 . Ne pas la chercher avant le 26 avril 2014. Toutes les trouvailles de cette journée seront considérées des « Premier à trouver » (FTF)
The cache is not at the posted coordinates. This cache was placed on a recently acquired piece of land of South Nation Conservatory (http://www.nation.on.ca/). Visit geocache GC52W86 for the limits of the property. Wear orange gear during hunting season.
La cache ne se trouve pas aux coordonnées publiées. Cette cache a été placée sur un terrain qui est une récente acquisition de la Conservation de la Nation Sud (http://www.nation.on.ca/). At the last meeting in Finch, someone proposed that it would be great to have some unknown cache about relativity. Relativity theories are based on the fact that measurements will vary relatively to the position and the speed of the observer. This one is about relative average speed.
For measuring the average speed, you need to know the variation of distance during a certain period of time. To measure relative speed, you will need to measure the variation of distance between the object and the observer. Here are two examples with trains.

In the first scenario, the two trains are travelling in the same direction. Therefore, during the 2 seconds, there was no change in the distance between the object and the observer. This gives an average speed of 0 m/s meaning that the observer has the impression that the other train is not moving.

In the second scenario, the two trains are travelling in opposite directions. Therefore, during the 2 seconds, there was a 10 m change in the distance between the object and the observer. This gives an average speed of 5 m/s. The speed has a positive value, meaning that the object and the observer are getting further from one another. WARNING : we’ve just calculated the AVERAGE speed during those 2 seconds. Of course, the relative instantaneous speed would be different at exactly 2 s but it would require calculating the derivative of an equation.
For this cache, the observer is at the final location of the cache and the object is a geocacher, bushwhacking his way in a straight line. The relative speed has a negative value when you’re getting closer to the cache. The relative speed has a positive value when you’re getting further away from the cache.

Two geocachers want to find this cache. They are fed up of Rockumulus geometry caches so they decided to just walk in this forest and hoped to find the cache. The red geocacher headed 315° true north at a speed of 0,985 m/s. After 7 minutes, he was at an instantaneous relative speed of 0 m/s relative to the cache. The blue geocacher headed 270° true north at a speed of 0,800 m/s. Between 6min55s and 7min, he had an average relative speed of -0,207 m/s relative to the cache.
