This is the 5th cache in a series along Loch Doon between the A713 and the Forest Drive between Loch Doon and the Stinchar Falls. At this point there are a number of interesting features - the Ness Glen is a great 3km walk through a gorge with SSSI status ( I wasn't able to place any caches here due to that status). There is a cafe and shop which sells food, bait etc for fishing and provides tourist information. Also nearby is the dam for the loch. There were plenty of midgies around today - so beware!!! The ground can be boggy and rocky underfoot so wear appropriate footwear. Congratulations to Gilkerscleugh Cachers on FTF!!
