THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE LISTED COORDINATES!

This road was the path my Grand-Daddy used to travel on before there was a highway 149, wether he was traveling North or the other way. I bought a piece of property from him 7 years before I turned Thirtytwo. Recently, he shared with me some stories about how things were way back when, even all the way back before he was Twenty. If he was headed to Carthage or Longview, he had to travel Four miles down a dirt road and cross the area that is now Hwy 149 to get on this road Seven tenths of a mile from here (as the crow flies). Sometimes, he would travel this road for miles and see Zero traffic except for horses and the occasional mule.
Highway 149 was constructed West from this location many years ago to help ease the time strains on the travelers, but he still prefers using these old roads even at the age of Ninetyfour. He told me stories of having to stop and clear fallen trees, water over the road, and even riding out a tornado while crouched down in his old Thirtyone ford. At least Three times, he ran out of fuel on this road and had to walk to the nearest house for help. He has seen a lot of history on this old road, including One time when he had to stop and help out a prominent politician who was traveling through and his fancy car couldn't handle the terrain. The first time I remember traveling this road, I couldn't have been more than Eight years old. And now that I have a few years on me, I still go up and down it and sometimes I try to picture the history he saw. Thanks for the stories GrandDaddy!
