Geocache Description:

Congratulations to my good friends w01f, mcgmarauders, and kenekestef for the FTF!!!!

If you were involved in motocross at all from the early 70’s, to the mid 80’s, then you probably spent some time at Indian Dunes, or “The Dunes” as we used to call it. I know I spent quite a bit of time there as teenage MX junkie, growing up in the late 70’s! Indian Dunes featured two motocross tracks, one being the International track, and the other, my favorite, the Shadow Glen track. If you did spend any time there at all, then you probably remember names like, Donnie Hansen, Johnny O, Mike Kiedrowski, A.J. and Matt Whiting, John Welchel, Eddie Cole, Jim Holley, Rodney Davidson, Donald Draskovich, Mark Lawrence, and so many more!!! WOW, so many great memories! There were a lot of great motocross legends born at “The Dunes”. I sure miss that place! How about you, did you ever race there?

Anyhow, this is a re-do of the original, which was fenced in by NL&F. It is a totally new container and is far enough from the old hide, so I thought it was best to just make it a new hide. Please try to re-conceal the cache well. You can park in a pullout very close to GZ, but it may not really be legal, so do so at your own risk! Also, be very careful when pulling back out into traffic, it moves pretty fast here! No need to be on the traffic side of the host when looking for the cache.

I can’t end without saying thanks Jack Barbacovi and family for all the years of great racing and for all the racing memories!

Have fun and take a minute to look to the southeast and remember “The Dunes” !
