Geocache Description:

This is a small cache with room for some small swag items, but no room for a pen, so bring your own!

There is quite the story to go with this cache, which illustrates how things get around in small towns!

Here is the "Small Town Story"...

A few years ago, my sister and I decided to go find the only geocache in McClusky at the time, "Sheridan County Seat Challenge" (GC2BPGR) - still active. We took along our grandmother, who lives in McClusky, since she was curious about what "this geocaching thing" was.  We found it quickly, signed the log and left.

Sometime a year or so later, the bush that the original cache was hidden in was removed. A cacher assumed the cache was lost forever and replaced it. A week or so later, my grandmother called to  tell me what happened. She told me that a lady from her church group told her about a "strange container" that her husband found when he was removing the bush. The container had some small toys it in and a list of names. He didn't know what to do with it, but didn't want to throw it away. Of course, my grandma knew exactly what it was and asked if she could have it to give to me. I contacted the cache owner and asked what to do. I was told to try to replace it if possible, but not to worry about it.

This weekend was my first time in McClusky without several feet of snow on the ground since I gained possession of the original container. I checked the new cache and quickly knew that the original would not be able to be hidden again in that location. So, I found a new home for it in another park in town.

The original log is tucked in the same bag as the new one that I placed inside. Please leave it there and sign the new one. This is a NEW CACHE, however, so if you have signed the original log, you can still sign the new one and log the find!
