Geocache Description:

Welcome to Mr D's Rivacre Valley Ramble! This mini-series of 3 caches is designed to get you exploring this beautiful nature reserve, and to also gain 3 cache types in the process. The 3 caches on offer are Mr D’s Rivacre Ramble - Rivacre Falls (Traditional Cache), Mr D’s Rivacre Ramble - Mr Fox’s Letterbox (Letterbox Hybrid Cache) and Mr D's Rivacre Ramble - The Meadow (Multi Cache). Enjoy your ramble!

Geocaching.com defines a Letterbox Hybrid as this:
Letterboxing is another form of treasure hunting that uses clues instead of coordinates. In some cases, the letterbox owner has made their container both a letterbox and a geocache and posted its coordinates on Geocaching.com. If there is a stamp inside a Letterbox Hybrid, it is not an item intended for trade. The stamp is meant to remain in the box so that visitors can use it to record their visit.

This cache can be found in 2 ways, by visiting the above co-ordinates (recommended for Geocachers) or following the instructions below (recommended for Letterboxers)

Letterboxer Hints:
Cross over the green railed bridge and turn right down the black stoned pathway. Walk along here until you reach the steps leading up to the motorway, don’t go up these but turn left onto a brown, dirt path. Walk a dozen steps until you reach a fork in the pathway. Bear right and walk up another dirt path that goes up the hill for 26 paces. Stop when you reach a sandy area near to a fox’s set. The cache is at the base of the fallen tree.

This cache is just off the main path but there is an obvious path that you need to follow.

Rivacre is often in bloom with bluebells in the spring and summer so the Park Rangers have requested that you keep away from the bluebells and that they are not picked. There are bluebells near to this cache so please be careful how you search and how you walk.

Thank you to Tim Lloyd for permission to hide this cache.
