Cottonwood Canyon is a remote open place. By design, and in spite of its vastness, this State Park offers a recreational experience that protects the treasured roughness of the place. When its 8,000 plus acres became an Oregon State Park, public consultation reaffirmed that the rugged character of this special place should not be lost.
Cottonwood Canyon State Park offers a variety of recreation. Hiking, camping, hunting and fishing, and other river recreation is a few activities it offers.
The cache is located approximately .84 miles from the Hiker/Biker camp, down the "Pinnacles trail." There is little shade, rattlesnakes and no cell service. Be prepared with water, proper hiking gear, and sunscreen before leaving the campground. Have fun and enjoy the geology of the area.
