The location used to be the fields surrounding Canniesburn Hospital. A single street of houses were built here in 2000, but a strip of woods popular with dog walkers is still there with some mature Scots Pine, Oak and Beech trees. For those with a longer memory, this used to be a field where donkeys were kept.
The cache is easily accessed through the thin strip of woodland between Canniesburn Road and Fernlea. There are well trodden footpaths past the location, but is would not be suitable for wheelchairs.
