Enjoy this wonderful mural depicting life at Idle Hour Park in Phenix City, AL during the 1940s era. The park was once the site of many amusements for the local citizens and soldiers serving at Ft. Benning. Visitors could enjoy a trip to the zoo, bowling alley, roller rink, or swimming pool. The carousel was a past favorite of the kids! Today many still enjoy the baseball fields, playground, and nature trails.
Plans for the park involve possible redevelopment of past amusements.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.... I have to give a nod to the master, Woodnutt, as this cache was inspired by one of my favorites of his.
Congrats to Fuddster for FTF!!
