Geocache Description:

Worshippers believe that, Lady Golden Flower can grant many generations of descendants. Pray to her if that is what you wish.


The bijou Temple of Jinhua (a.k.a. Lady Golden Flower) is unique to Peng Chau dated back to the mid Qing Dynasty. In year 27 of Qianlong's reign (1762), a herbalist named Lai Guo Wen came to temple prayed for drugs to treat his wife. To thank Madame Jinhua, he built this temple which is still in existence nowadays.

On the altar of the temple stand a military and a cilvilian Madame Jinhua, a Kwan Tak-hing (a famous Cantonese opera performer) statue is found by her side. It was because once Master Kwan dreamed of Madame Jinhua and was pointed to Peng Chau for the Jinhua Festival celebration. After Master Kwan passed away, he was made General Guardian to guard Madame Jinhua.
