Geocache Description:

The island of Funafuti, Tuvalu, is not everyone’s cup of tea for a tourist destination, but still many make the trek by boat or plane for whatever reason. My visits here are work related on behalf of the BBC World Service. Tuvalu is in the headlines for one simple feature, its sinking as a result of global warming and sea level changes. So be quick before it disappears.

Head north from the airport, and you will come to a very very narrow part of Funafuti, its the causeway, separating the sea from the lagoon, and originally built to join two parts of the island together. The island here is just a few metres wide.  Maybe hire a motor scooter for this journey, but its not that far to walk, and capture numerous photos on the way, including the Van Camp wreck, port facilities, and the high school.

Small note on cache maintenance:
There is a local cache guardian who will assist.
