In a quest to recreate Bilbo's famous adventures, EFrodo Baggins, (granddaughter to the beloved Bilbo), set off on a memorable journey from her beloved shire. Whilst this journey was not detailed in Bilbo's published works, you can read a small part of it here:
Having paddled their trusty pirogue north, from the sodden desolation of Mirkwood, (now called Chuluota), EFrodo and her erstwhile companion Meriadoc Brandybuck, (sole surviving companion from the Fellowship, retired from his position as Knight of the Mark), found their bellies were rumbling, as Hobbit bellies are wont to do. They stopped off at a pub in Dale, (now called Oviedo), for some yummy noms, and a nice long nap.
EFrodo and Meriadoc resumed their journey north, up Running River, (now called the Econ), hoping to visit Erebor, (now called Geneva), on Lonely Mountain, the former dwelling of the great wyrm, Smaug, however, they were delayed. As they paddled northward, EFrodo noticed an amazing waterfall which must have escaped notice on Bilbo's infamous voyage. The waterfall poured through two mighty wooden towers, (called SighPress Nees, in the old tongue of Rivendell), and formed a majestic pool at the bottom. Meriadoc opined that, perhaps Bilbo missed it because it was dark when they went this way last time?
Whatever the reason, they decided to explore the raging river which birthed the mighty fall, battling their way upstream, admiring the thick jungle on either side, and encountering the occasional cousin of Smaug, the lowly water moccasin & alligator. Eventually, they came to an impassible boundary, (now marked by the Clonts Ranch boundary fence). Immediately prior to reaching this barrier, they discovered a lost treasure, dangling from a tree suspended over the river. Could this be left over booty from Smaug's horde? Because Hobbits are not greedy, they admired the treasure within, and eventually resumed their journey to Erebor.
The posted coordinates will take you to what's left of EFrodo Falls, the twin SighPress Nees, and the pool below. From there, travel upstream, till you are 54.74 smoots away from EFrodo Falls, to locate Smaug's lost treasure. (Or, just go 305' on a heading of 128* Magnetic) You will find a handcarved stamp and an inkpad in a specially marked container, inside the cache. This stamp is for the Letterboxing aspect of this cache, and should be left inside. Please, do not take or trade the stamp.
Please be cautious of the critters who call this place home. Much of the journey betwixt EFrodo Falls and the treasure is old school bushwhacking, through a habitat bristling with venomous snakes, wild hogs, ticks & chiggers.
Enjoy!
