Lt: Šiaurės vakariniame Kauno pakraštyje iškilęs Lapių moreninis gubrys yra laikomas aukščiausia vieta visoje dabartinio miesto teritorijoje (100,1 m virš jūros lygio). Greta išsidėstęs didelis magistralinių kelių transporto mazgas. Dėl geografinio vietovės išskirtinumo 1903 – 1911 m. čia buvo pastatytas Kumpės arba Kauno tvirtovės IX fortas - netaisyklingo penkiakampio formos gynybinių statinių kompleksas. Tarpukariu čia veikė kalėjimas, vėliau tapo masinių žudynių vieta. Apie 1960 m. forte atidarytas muziejus. Vėliau šalia jo iškilo masyvus paminklas, skirtas fašizmo aukoms. Taip pat įrengta savitų architektūrinių formų ekspozicijų salė. Forto teritorija gerai žinoma ir kaip rekreacijos zona su gausiais pasivaikščiojimams skirtais takeliais. IX fortas yra tapęs savotišku fenomenu, svarbia memorialine ir simboline vieta.
Geoslėptuvė įrengta šalia esančiame miškelyje, paprastai vadinamame IX forto miškeliu. Nors jam labiau tiktų šalia esančios gyvenvietės Giraitės pavadinimas. Šioje vietoje šlama senieji Lietuvos galiūnai ąžuolai. Iš šios vietos puikiai matosi IX forto ir Kauno miesto panorama.
En: The Lapės moraine crest located in the northwestern part of Kaunas is considered the highest place in the entire territory of the present city (100.1 m above the sea level). A large intersection of the major roads is situated nearby. Due to the geographical peculiarities, this place was chosen for constructing the Ninth Fort of Kaunas Fortress (also known as Kumpė Fortress) during 1903–1911. The fort was a complex of defensive fortifications built in the shape of an irregular pentagon. During the inter-war period, the fort served as a prison and later became the place of the massacre. Around 1960, the place was turned into a museum. Later, a massive monument was built nearby to commemorate the victims of fascism. An exhibit hall renowned for its distinctive architectural shape was also built. The territory of the Ninth Fort is a well known recreation zone with countless pathways for long strolls. The Ninth Fort has become a type of unique phenomenon and a significant memorial and symbolic place.
The geocache is hidden in the nearby grove usually referred to as the Grove of the Ninth Fort, even though the name of Giraitė Village located not far away would be more suitable. Here, the visitors can admire ancient oak-trees revered as most powerful trees of Lithuania and the beautiful panorama of the Ninth Fort and Kaunas City.
