Benjamin Harrison was the 23d president of the United States.
Here are some interesting facts:
1. He served in the Civil War. He was the last Civil War general to serve as president.
2. Harrison and his family often went to bed and left all the new electric lights burning because they were afraid to touch the switches. He used to have White House staff turn them on and off.
3. A record of six states were formed during Harrison's time in office. They were North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Washington, Idaho and Wyoming.
4. President Harrison was the only grandson of a President (William Henry Harrison) to be elected President.
5. Harrison was the second President whose wife died while he was in office.
