Året var 2013 og oppstart på folkehelseprosjektet «Folk i Form til Tusen» som er et prosjekt under byjubileet. Sarpsborg idrettsråd har ansvaret for å drive prosjektet. I en innledende fase av prosjektet ble det holdt en idedugnad med representanter fra kommunale etater, friluftsorganisasjoner, idrettsliv og andre interesseorganisasjoner. Som et av flere aktuelle tiltak som kom fram, var stolpejakten som er blitt en stor suksess i vårt naboland. I Karlstad, Sverige ble det i 2012 registrert over 300.000 stolpebesøk.

En kritisk suksessfaktor i dette tiltaket var tilgang til kartgrunnlag og kartkompetanse. Det var derfor naturlig å lage en arbeidsgruppe med representanter fra idrettsrådet, kommunen og orienteringslagene i kommunen.

Resultatet ble en helt ny type aktivitet, som fikk navnet «Fresk i Sarp».
På våren 2014 ble 100 nye stolper plassert ut, så ivrige turgåere har nå hatt muligheten til å besøke 250. Målet er at 1000 stolper skal plasseres ut innen utgangen av jubileumsåret for Sarpsborg 2016.

The year was 2013 and the start of public health project "Folk i form til 1000" which is a project under the city 1000'th anniversary. Sarpsborg sports council is responsible for conducting the project. In an initial phase of the project was held a brainstorming session with representatives from local government , outdoor organizations , sporting life and other interest groups. As one of several current initiatives that came out was post hunt that has been a huge success in our neighboring country . In Karlstad , Sweden was in 2012 recorded over 300,000 visited posts .

A critical success factor in this project was access to map data and map skills . It was therefore natural to create a working group with representatives from the sports council, municipality and orienteering clubs in the municipality.

The result was an entirely new kind of activity , called " Fresk i Sarp."
In the spring of 2014 were 100 new posts put out, so eager walkers have now had the opportunity to visit 250 posts. The aim is that in 1000 posts should be placed out by the end of the anniversary year of Sarpsborg in 2016 .
