Geocache Description:

For all you Gowanus Canal fans!  I had intended to stash a hide here for a long time.  This corner has some history with me.  Do you call this neighborhood gentrification or economic improvement.  The land here and its surroundings were previously contaminated and only existed as a dumping grounds.  The last few years this industrial area has seen an uptick in investment by creative reinvention and repurposing.

At this GZ you will notice some obvious examples of environmentally friendly construction.  Located on the Gowanus canal, now a federal superfund site; the forethought going into this area is amicable.  Solar panels and wind catchers power the parking lot lighting.  Have you noticed the rooftop greenhouse.  They even capture rainwater for their own farming uses.  That directly benefits systematic canal flooding.  For these reasons I have renewed energy in placing a cache for you to find here.

Leave a comment of your own accomplished environmentalism; or a less obvious, not listed observation of your present surroundings. I am a big proponent of reuse, recycle, repurpose.

Congratulations to Schbus86 on the FTF!
