Once a thriving cotton town, Pendergrass boasted several doctor’s offices, a bank, a blacksmith shop, a hotel, and lovely Victorian homes. The cotton market declined and fire destroyed most of the downtown buildings. Today one of the surviving early 1900s homes serves as the city hall/library.
