The South County Trailway is a 14.1-mile (22.7 km) long trail stretching from Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx to Elmsford in Westchester, NY. Construction started in the 1990s and was completed in 2011. Most sections of the trailway are paved. This was once the part of the New York Central Railroad system.
Poison Ivy is very common along this trail, but I did my best to avoid it.
The cache is a camoed micro container. The cache is accessible from the paved trailway, almost. Hidden OCATT style.
Once upon a time, this was the home of Worthington Station. The decomissioning of the rail line, and the construction of the highways has left no traces of the station. The plaque is the only way you would know it had been here.
Parking is available at the posted coordinates.
There is also trail access from the North, but parking nearby is restricted.
