The South County Trailway is a 14.1-mile (22.7 km) long trail stretching from Van Cortlandt Park in The Bronx to Elmsford in Westchester, NY. Construction started in the 1990s and was completed in 2011. Most sections of the trailway are paved. This was once the part of the New York Central Railroad system.
Poison Ivy is very common along this trail, but I did my best to avoid it.
The cache is a camoed bison tube container. The cache is accessible from the paved trailway.
as we have traveled up and down this trail, it became quite clear that the Saw Mill River is not remotely straight. There are so many "river" crossings on this trail. Not that we mind as they provide so many caching opportunities.
Parking is available at the posted coordinates.
There is also trail access from the North, but parking nearby is restricted.
