An Ode to Geocaching (and Schoenberg) Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

emo_mz: Should have archived this ages ago, but life got to me. Unable to maintain it as I’m rarely in the area now. It was fun while it lasted, hope you enjoyed the puzzle.

Geocache Description:

A little musical puzzle inspired by twelve-tone serialism

There seem to be a lot of mathematically-minded Geocachers setting puzzles in Edinburgh. As someone who gave up maths as soon as possible, I wanted a puzzle I could solve. The co-ordinates to the cache are hidden in this little atonal composition that seems to be reminiscent of Schoenburg's twelve-tone serialism...

Musical Clue

There is no need to go to the published location to solve the cache, though if you would like to visit the Reid Museum of Musical Instruments on your way to finding the cache you can check the opening hours here.

Ground Zero is very easily accessible, but the cache itself may not be easy to reach for a wheelchair user. GZ is also often very busy with muggles, especially on a sunny day. It is usually quieter in the evenings, the early morning or when it's raining. This cache has been placed with the kind permission of the land manager.
