Geocache Description:

The first organised Event to encourage cachers to explore some of the less frequently visited local walking tracks.

When:  Sunday 1st June 2014

Where:    Departing from Lake Morris Road at the trailhead (coordinates provided below). As this is a downhill event only, to avoid participants having to return to retrieve vehicles parked on Lake Morris Road, we have arranged transport up to Lake Morris Road.  The meeting place for those participants who would like to be transported up to the event trailhead, will be the McDonald’s Woree carpark.

Time:  6:00am at McDonald’s Woree carpark (coordinates provided below) if you would like transport up to the Lake Morris trailhead.  The departure time from the McDonald’s carpark will be 6:15am sharp.  This will enable a 6:30am drop off at the event trailhead.  The downhill walk and Event should take no longer than 75 minutes to complete.

What to wear/bring:
Sturdy walking boots – definitely no thongs or flimsy footwear for this Event.
Cap or Hat - as all Event participants are sun smart.
Drinking water – in case you develop a hard earned thirst.
Optional Extras - Writing implement / Hiking Pole / Camera

Parking:
Plenty of free parking is available at the McDonald’s carpark.  All participants who park here will be delivered back to their vehicles when the Event concludes in Bayview Heights (trail exit coordinates provided below).

What to Expect:  The walk is all downhill, along a well formed path, but a little steeper in some areas.  Fullboar, a local cacher who knows the path well will be our guide.
