This cache was placed for the CAM 2014 picnic. The cache is located approximately 40 feet from the Holly (Orange) trail in Cedarville State Forest. It is near the campfire/sitting area which is close to the campground. The cache is a small lock-and-lock. Please bring your own pen/pencil.
To reach the orange trail from the listed parking area, follow the trail past Pavilion #2 and the restrooms. Continue walking past Pavilion #1 and follow the gravel road until reaching the trail sign.
Cedarville State Forest consists of 3,510 acres and includes the headwaters of the Zekiah Swamp. The forest includes five marked trails--Blue, Brown, Green, Orange and White-- comprising over 19 miles of developed trails. These trails were constructed in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. There is currently a $3.00 per vehicle fee to enter this park. You may refer to their web site (http://dnr.maryland.gov/publiclands/southern/cedarville.asp) for updated information. Please observe all park regulations including their hours of operation and the restriction of parking to designated areas. While hunting is permitted in this park, hunting is not allowed where this cache is located.
