A short walk through this row of trees growing on the site of what was once a corduroy road, as described in the roadside plaque located nearby. Uneven terrain. Not winter friendly.
In honor of local school teacher Aureen Richardson this cache is placed on the site of a pioneer corduroy road discoverd by she and husband Ramond some 50 years ago. a school teacher, Mrs. Richardson was also an avid historian and researched and self-published books on local hsitory including artist JD Kelly, the once-booming area cheese industry and an Indian long-house once located at the top of this hill behind the red brick farmhouse where they raised their family. Mrs. Richardson never slowed when she retired, touring the world in a wheelchair and continuing her research even after moving to a nearby nursing home.
