Geocache Description:

I place caches like this only to just bring the geocacher to a scenic, beautiful spot on Long Island that most people may not know about. This spot is on the north end of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. This sprawling softwood is a favorite place for just relaxing. I sometimes see people meditating here which reminds me of the teaching gardens at SUNY Farmingdale, another place of serenity.

Directions:  On Rt 25A, go a bit West of the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and look for Bungtown Rd, which heads North.  Go North for less than a mile and when you enter a small traffic circle, park in the small lot to the left behind the white wooden fence.  Now get out and walk 100 feet north on Bungtown Rd and fork right at the cobblestone entrance that turns to a  dirt road going North toward the beach. (There is a single yellow barrier, which is why you have to walk & can’t drive)  As you make your way up, you will see Cold Spring Harbor. You must cut left before the beach and head West.   GZ may look like it’s in someones yard but its not. Houses, trees & sculptures here are owned by the state. The house is provided to administrators much like a dean of a college who is provided an on-campus dwelling.

After signing log, please fit  the camo item back in the same direction  & way you found it to conceal the cache again. Do not disturb the inner support material either.

When you see picnic tables, you’re close….. when you see DNA, you’re closer … when you see what goes into a wine bottle, you’re there!

Note: I checked on this cache the other day and I realize it could be quite difficult for some people, so I've enhanced the encrypted hint below. (It"s not on the ground or hanging either. If you still need help, message me anytime.) Old hint for those that like to search online: To reveal the cache you must remove what a vet removes when he performs a ventriculocordectomy on a dog.
