Geocache Description:


This multicache is located in Heyuan Royal Garden Hotel complex and following the clues takes you at least 2 km around the tortoise shaped lake in its park. The hotel has a driving range, restaurant, spa and facilities for weddings, banquets and conferences, while the park is popular with locals for fishing, playing or strolling around.


There is a sign to the hotel from Huosha Lu. Continue straight past the guard, cars can be parked along the road. Access to the park is free. Sometimes, especially on busy weekends it may be required to park outside the hotel gate and walk to the park. It might be a good idea to bring your kids, scooter, bike or dog to blend in unsuspiciously.

In order to let fellow cachers enjoy the treasure hunt please do not post pictures of the cache location or of the stages that contain hints.

The park is full of CCTV, so don’t wave your GPS in front of the countless surveillance cameras and hide the cache back in its original hiding place after you found it. The Cache itself is placed outside the sight of a CCTV Camera, so there’s no need to search in sight of any CCTV.

Heyuan Park

One day, Ai-Yong (a smart little mouse) and Tian Fu (a funny little cat) were resting in their courtyard home, observing the clouds pass by and getting a little bored. Just then, a chitty-chatty swallow came down from the sky and landed on their window sill. “Long time no seen, my friends”, she started babbling right away, “Have you already heard the latest buzz? After strolling through the ‘Garden of Harmony’, the Jade Empress couldn’t find her precious golden jewel casket anymore. Undoubtedly it has been stolen. Everybody keeps searching, as a wise old tortoise had told the empress that only somebody ingenious and tireless will be able to retrieve it. You can have a try yourselves, if you want. Ai Yong and Tian Fu stared at each other for a second, then, grabbed their equipment and sallied out to their adventure.

Stage 1

They encountered a group of celestial maidens, twirling and chanting in a clearing. “Good afternoon, fair ladies”, said Tian Fu, “Do you by any chance have knowledge of the whereabouts of the Jade Empress’ jewel casket?” They all started talking at once excitedly: “No, we don’t”, answered one. “Yes, we do”, declared the next, “I will not reveal it”, “I want to be first”, “No, we shouldn’t tell anything”, “It was so completely unbelievable”, etc. Suddenly a distant roll of thunder silenced them, then the fairies started dancing in their endless circle again. Just as the youngest one passed Tian Fu and Ai-Yong, she whispered: “When the Empress took a nap, she put her possessions north-easterly under our feet. Some cheeky individual snatched it from there. Stage 2

The two friends followed the footsteps in the indicated direction and before long reached a handsome prince with his maids, having a picnic in a field. “Your Majesty, did you happen to catch a glimpse of the Jade Empress’ golden casket?”, Ai-Yong dared to inquire, bowing low. “We are too busy and too important to pay attention to anything but ourselves. ”, the prince replied snobbishly and continued to try to get a melody out of his instrument. When he failed again and again, he threw it away furiously. The maids, who had observed everything, exchanged some quick words with the friends: “Forgive our prince, but he is just too unaware and too egocentric, he didn’t even notice the scoundrel scurrying past. Stage 3


Ai-Yong and Tian Fu hurried on and to their tremendous surprise they came across an old friend of theirs. Qing Wa had been waiting for them already. “Guys, sitting here and holding out for you has made me feel a little stiff. I should really get my legs moving. Could you do me a favour and rub my chin, my fingers are just too numb.”, he said, disgorging a jet of liquid from his lips.– “Thanks. When Tian Fu and Ai-Yong got to the designated place, their heart sank. They could not imagine how they would be able to extract the needed fragment of information from the huge and extensive wisdom presented to them. They commenced perusing nonetheless. When they had accomplished half of the manuscript, they unexpectedly came across an important hint. They merely had to find the Crazy Coachman, who was known to roam all over the place with his white chariot. Stage 4

It was a loooong tramp, and Ai-Yong and Tian Fu needed to rest their short legs several times. But, finally they saw him approaching, the Crazy Coachman, driving his chariot at top speed, the hooves of his horses barely touching the ground and his heralds calling out to clear the path for him. “Crazy Coachman”, they yelled as loud as they could, “We are searching the Jade Empress’ jewel casket. What do you know about it? Did you give somebody a ride? Where did you take that scallywag?” “Argh, yes. How come you know?”, the coachman would not slow down. “Anyway, you will have to do me a favour first. Go to my home and check on my wife and my baby, that they both are well. If they trust you, they will tell you about the whereabouts of the box. By the way, if I have a baby girl, then double the number of the ropes of the swing for F, if I have a baby boy, then take the number of visible feet.” “Where can we find your family, Crazy Coachman”, asked Tian Fu and leapt onto a stone pew, a mere instant before the chariot would have knocked him over. “Oh, my sweetest angel! Stage 5

It took the two friends quite a while to reach the Crazy Coachman’s residence. They plodded on, through forests, along lakes and rivers, past rocks and roundabouts, until they stumbled upon his delightful garden, where their struggles soon fell into oblivion. His wife was a gorgeous lady with pleasing manners and they chatted with her the whole afternoon, before their mission returned to their minds. They asked the lady about the golden jewel casket and she answered in her melodious voice: “Because you have been so brave and so keen, I will disclose the secret lair to you. I know, where the treasure is buried, and - it is not very far from here. But I cannot forthright tell you the location, because it ought to stay arcane! If you treat it strictly confidential, you will find an additional reward. So, do not tell any ordinary people about it! To find your prize, go to

Thus, Tian Fu and Ai-Yong did as told. Before long, they found the mysterious cache, which they did not take, but, put it back to its hiding place instead. Thereafter, they carried on to discover their well-deserved bonus. Naturally, they covered all their tracks. Only their good friend Di Bao heard about their adventure, who on his part will only disclose it to people who like treasure hunting (but who can keep a secret).
