Geocache Description:

Shortwood Common is an open space just East of Staines Town Centre. The land has grazing rights and part of it is a SSSI due to the pond and the plants found there.

The common is now dissected by the A308 Staines bypass and the Staines - Waterloo railway line.

This cache is placed in the southern and smaller part of the common.

If you approach from the northern part of the common, please take care crossing the railway line at the public foot crossing.
