Via Severiana is the old roman costal road. It passes Ostia Antiqua and continue south along the coast. As the water level is much lower nowadays, it is hard to imagine. Along the road, you will find some ruins of old Roman buildings. I have not found much information in English, but if you google Via Severiana, you will get some sites that can be translated.
This is the “cinghiale”, the wild boar territory. You can see that they have been digging all over the place in search for food. If you decide to go on the smaller paths within the park, you might have a chance to see some.
I hope to build a series of caches in the Urbano Pineta di Castel Fusano park. During the time I spent in the neighbourhood, I often have used the park to get some exercise. I also pass some of the cashes going to the sea for a swim. The area is always open and accessible, but I have been told that there might be funny things happening in the evenings.
The cache is a black plastic container containing logbook and pens. The container is big enough for geocoins and smaller trackables. If you follow the Via Severiana southwards for 1.9 km, you will find the Villa della Palombara and its cache.
If you are willing to translate this text into Italian, please drop me a note and I will update the cache.
