Geocache Description:

This is a black nano, 7/16” or 1.1cm with room for just a log. Tweezers may be required. Stealth required as this can be a popular location at any time of the year, including pleasure craft!

In 1960, Shell Mex & BP opened an oil depot to the north of Sellars Bridge, after it outgrew its storage tanks at Monk Meadow, Gloucester Docks. Deliveries were initially by tanker barges and later by coastal tankers. The depot closed in 1985, and only the quay used by the tankers remains. The storage tanks have been replaced by a housing estate, in which the former role is commemorated by the roads being named after some of the regular barges.
